AKINS / ETIENNE Genealogy

My family history begins with Pierre ETIENNE born 1640 in the village of Courtemaiche in the mountains of Switzerland near the French border. Courtemaiche is now in Canton Jura but was orginally in Canton Bern. The line continues through Joseph Etienne who came to America from France. He, his wife, Marieanne Moulin, and two children arrived in New York in 1828 on the US ship Henri IV. There is more under the heading "A Bit More Detail", below.
